Well, here it is, the Biscuit Blog. Any bloggers who complain I have invaded your space with my debating, (overopinionated.com, Trish Wilson, etc) please feel free to come here and invade mine. The rules are basic for debate-no personal attacks, stay on topic, and keep the swearing down to a dull roar. Other than that, I love good debate.
I am Jen, aka The Biscuit Queen. I have an awesome husband, Dave, an electrical engineer, and two really great kids. Tom, 9 is into into pre-gunpowder battles, Greek and Roman history, weapons, etc and Nick 14, is into machines, cars, trucks, slamming, rims, you get the drift . I stay home with Tom homeschooling, and also run a dog training business. Usually I compete in agility, but due to a bad sprain on my way to dog camp I am out of commission this season. I have 3 dogs (a dal/whippet, beagle/lab, and a bull terrier), 2 cats (siamese and barn cat), two fish tanks, a 125 gal terrarium (2 frogs, 2 newts, fish, a turtle and a foot long millipede) and 5 chickens (3 polish and two banties.) We have killed out tv for one year mothers day, the best decision we ever made!
Things of interest to me in no particular order-dogs (training, sports, BSL), chickens, gaming (Ars Magica and Shadowrun) Half Life 2, cooking, gardening, kids, music, bird watching, insects, hiking with hubby, mushrooms (the non-psychidellic varieties,) 1st gen muscle cars(69 Camaro is my next car) and I am sure I will come up with more. I am an insatiably curious person.
My favorite topic of debate, which I separate from above because it is more than a hobby or interest to me is men's activism. Topics like family court, education, the wage gap myth, and others are interesting to debate. I will probably post a couple of starter threads in the next few days.I have never run a blog before. I guess it is sort of like a linked daily journal? I don't know. If you have a blog I might be interested in or you would like to link to please post it. I will figure out how to get it.
A big howdy to anyone from Stand your Ground who stops on by.

My first question would be, "Why do you chose to affiliate yourself with that useless bunch of idiots at "Stand Your Ground"...
You are constantly attacked by them for being a stay-at-home mother and quit frankly, with the exception of your husband, I don't see even ONE of your so-called friends over there coming to dispute them. Hopefully you'll never have to face a divorce and custody fight (as I see you are located in upstate New York) and have to come face-to-face with the sad reality that courts up where you are operate with bias against MOTHERS, not fathers...in spite of the baloney you've been fed on SYG...
Hopefully, you'll never have to face that reality...
You should look for better things to do with your time then enable a bunch of idiots to use you so they can paint their site as being open to both men and women...in fact you are the ONLY woman there since I don't take typhonblue, with all her many, many, many issues, very seriously...
Nevertheless, I congratulate you on taking the first steps from your dependence on SYG by setting up your own blog...
Good luck.
First of all I am NOT a detractor, but I don't see the point of women hanging around a blog with a group of men who periodically go off and attack any woman who happens to be a member and sometimes even those who aren't as I was NOT even a member there when I got attacked...
It's the same thing with every one of your other MRA sites too. Right now another one of your site has put up the very same work website of me that was put up on STG before...it's just endless with all of you...
Even that Navyblue situation is ongoing...every so often she comes back and tries to do a FAVOR for the site by moderating (as she gets paid nothing), then gets crapped on and gets tired of it...posts are erased and the same thing happens a few months later. AND the same thing happened with that other young woman, Amber Pawlik...and Wendy McElroy, she was getting threatened as well...
Where this will end if you continue with your nonsense is NO MRA sites allowed...because you simply don't know how to act civilized...
Okay...
That's where it will end...
AND it's not just me who has noticed this as many other people have been saying the same thing.
Welcome, NYMOM. Please take a look at my extensive rules, the main of which is no personal attacks. "Useless bunch of idiots" falls under personal attacks.
Anyhow, on to your questions.
1)"You are constantly attacked by them for being a stay-at-home mother"
No, I am not. First of all, personally attack is not allowed at SYG. Second of all, I choose to debate the subject of SAHMs with the all of three or four people there who disagree with the concept of a SAHM. Thirdly, I do not expect anyone there to stick up for me. I am an adult, and can handle myself. They know this and respect my decision to tangle and my ability to handle the outcome. One of the reasons I like being there is that it does not disinigrate into sides, but each person is free to agree, disagree, or stay out of it. I take it as a sign that they veiw me on equal ground that they let me handle myself.
2) As far as divorce in NY state, it isn't biased agianst mothers that I have seen. I have witnessed many folks going through divorces, and even when custody should have gone to the father for the kids sake it did not. I have watched first hand (I have sat in court) as a judge recieved hearsay testimony from the mother but would not allow actual video evidence from the father because "it wasn't necessary." I have spoken to one woman who lost her children, but it was to foster care and the father was not involved. I was involved in fathers rights before I got to stand your ground. I do not get fed anything. I look around, I find information, and I make up my own mind.
3)I am not the only woman there. Devia and Contrarymary are also regular posters and are very decent, educated women. Typhon may be young and idealistic, but we all were at one time. She is very bright and once she gains some perspective will be a force to be reckoned with.
Thank you for your congratulations, but I do not see as I had any dependence to begin with. I enjoy the company I have there for the most part. I hold some as friends, some as aquaintances, and some I just debate with.
Steve-thanks for stopping in!
I invited NYMOM and others from Trish's blog over. On Trish's blog I was deleted and banned for disagreeing. They are welcome to come here, where what they and I say stays put, and they are welcome to disagree with me. I plan to run this like Dr E, say what you like as long as it is not a personal attack.
NYMOM, you were not attacked. You said pretty viscious things and got called on it. Attacks are out of the blue unfair things. You played the game and lost. Two different things.
If you post info on the web it is free for all to use. Sorry, but that is the case. That is why I do not use my last name, or my name of business on the web.
From what I can see, Navyblue has her own motives, and in any case she is a big girl. Anytime I see posts deleted or banning for disagreeing it tells me that someone is hiding something. It is cowardly. I may have to someday, after warnings, ban someone, but those posts will stay up for all to see what happened.
I have been on feminist and MRA sites, and by far Stand Your Ground is the most civilized, even among MRA sites. Dr E has very firm, fair policies, which he is careful to enforce. Again, any site which bans people for disagreeing, and erases posts is suspect.
Anytime you have groups of people getting together there will be problems. It is how they are handled which is the measure.
I consider it an attack when someone posts my picture (and 8 other innocent co-workers as well) on a blog where I was never even a member; then posts my working address and telephone number as well. So saying vicious things about someone I don't even know and never posted to would be a good trick if I knew who that person REALLY was and HOW I could have said something vicious to them and where/when I said it...
Then another man on the site joins in with this and goes on to say lies about what I do at my job implying I'm in a position to 'injure' other young men...This was an attempt by a group of very manipulative person(s) to incite other men against me which it did and I'm still getting hate mail to this day because of it...
So please do NOT say it wasn't an attack...it was...
Just to let you know there is ANOTHER post on SYG about stay-at-home mothers which once again is attacking ALL of them by claiming everything can be done for a family and home in 2/3 hours a day...thus implying women who wish to stay at home and raise their children are useless and lazy, a burden on others, etc., why can't they work "real" jobs, etc.,...and people wonder why young women no longer wish to have children...
BTW, I was a stay-at-home mother at one time and it is NOT a 2/3 hour a day job...NOW it is, as I have to tutor my daughter through the last two years of community college, she is graduating next week...this is when it finally became a 2/3 hour a NIGHT job for me...as once you leave a 9-5 job your workday is over; when you are running a household with children, there is no time that you clock out and your day is officially over...as you know...this is a common smear against mothers put out by MRAs, along with gender neutralized feminists, in an attempt to denigrate motherhood and convince women it's not important (the sh*t work of society, so to speak). Both groups for selfish reasons want women to focus on careers and not their home and children...
Regarding bias in the courts, hopefully you'll never have to test your hypothesis...
Nevertheless, since this is a site about cooking I won't mention these other issues again, but stick to the topic which happens to be one of my favorite ones anyway...
NYMOM, this site is about anything we wish to discuss.
You are right. SOME MRAs are bound and determined to paint all SAHMs as useless. Some feminists claim all sex is rape, all men are rapists, and that men only exist to oppress women.
Neither are representative of all, and both are extremist. Just because one apple is rotten you don't have to dump the whole barrel. You pick out the rotten ones, throw them in the compost and wash the rest.
You are right, I hope I never have to test my hypothesis. It is not that I am afraid I would lose my kids or house, it's that I love my husband and would not want to lose him.
